Well now, let me tell y’all a little story that’s close to my heart and tied to my boots.
Super Lawn Trucks is what happens when a landscaper gets fed up with trailers! It’s born of a plan to stop wasting time, stop tools disappearing like socks in a dryer, and lawn crews standing around with their hands in their pockets watching the new guy trying to back that trailer instead of cutting grass or planting shrubs. It’s a mobile efficiency machine built from the blood, sweat, and brainpower of someone who’s walked in the muddy boots of a real lawn and landscape contractor.
I oughta know… I invented the dang thing.
💡 Where Did It Come From?
Back in the 1990s, I was running my landscaping company—Bass Custom Landscapes. We were mowing hundreds of lawns a week, doing installs, irrigation work, you name it. But every single day, I watched crews waste 30 minutes… an hour… sometimes more—loading up trailers, fixing broken ramps, mending trailer lights, hunting for tools, or chasing down stolen blowers.
I looked at my Dad—Buddy Bass—and I said, “We’ve got to fix this. I’m about to go crazy!”
We started tinkering in the shop. Welding, cutting, cussing a little, and praying a lot. What we built was a truck body—not a trailer—that had built-in tool storage, a powered loading ramp, fuel storage, and a translucent roof so you could see without flipping a switch. It was a rolling warehouse, a billboard, and a productivity machine all in one.
In 1998, we filed for our first patent (granted August 15, 2000 #6,102,646) and started Super Lawn Truck, Inc.
🚛 What Is a Super Lawn Truck?
It isn’t your daddy’s box truck and it sure ain’t a rickety trailer bouncing down the highway or flying off the back of a pickup truck because somebody forgot to hook up chains or fix a latch pin.
Here’s the scoop:
- It’s an enclosed truck body built on a commercial cab & chassis (Isuzu, Ford, Chevy—you pick). Get rid of those trailers once and for all.
- It’s got a fold-down aluminum or steel loading ramp strong enough for your zero-turns, aerators, or ride-on sprayers. Safe. Fast. Easy to open and close. Built rugged for 6,000 to 8,000 cycles up and down per year…no kidding!
- It’s got a side-tipping Debris Dumper so you can easily load and then haul pruning materials, leaves, grass clippings or trash you pick up on job sites…then quickly dump it without all that time-sucking, expensive labor dealing with debris day after day after day.
- It’s got secure tool storage built inside the body—your trimmers, blowers, and hand tools stay locked up, secure in transport, neatly organized, and out of the weather. Think of a well-organized garage you’d be proud to show your Dad or old drinking buddy.
- It’s got a translucent roof so you can see inside without electricity. That means your crew doesn’t waste time or batteries finding stuff with pre-dawn starts or after dark returns to the shop.
- It’s got shelving, on-board fuel storage, ladder racks, and options galore. Even though we HATE trailers, you can even get a towing hitch for your Super Lawn Truck. Now here’s where you can automatically boost your business the smart way. You can wrap it with your logo and turn that baby into a rolling billboard that markets your company all over town. Make a small investment today and you’ll be promoting your business like a pro wrestler talks smack – and then backs it up!
🌱 What’s the Big Deal for Landscapers?
Let me put it in plain ol’ contractor English:
✅ No trailers. No DOT headaches. No flat tires. No “forgot to latch the gate.” No more jackknifing your truck while your new helper is trying to learn how to back a trailer.
✅ No wasted time. Keep your tools loaded! Your crew rolls out at 7:00 AM and starts mowing at 7:15. More production = more billable hours = smart landscaper!
✅ Fewer employee excuses. “I couldn’t find the trimmer” just don’t work anymore.
✅ Higher profits. Faster setup. More jobs per day. More control. Less chaos. Better image,
✅ Higher resale value. You’re building a business asset, not throwing money down the depreciation drain.
Built by Hard-Working Country Folks for Landscapers
Super Lawn Trucks aren’t made in some overseas factory. They’re made right here in the U.S.A., in Fort Valley, Georgia, by folks who understand the business because we lived it. We hire local welders, fabricators, painters, and folks with grit in their soul. We’ve built thousands of trucks for lawn pros in 48 states.
We believe the small business owner is the backbone of America, not some Fedzilla bureaucrat. And if we can help that small business grow by making every single day more productive as we get rid of trailers—well, by God, that’s our mission.
I crawled up under a new Super Lawn Truck one morning to check on an employee.
I said, “Hey Joe. What’cha you doing?”
He said. “Oh boss ya know…just saving the world one lawn truck at a time!”
Enough said about that.
🎯 Bottom Line
A Super Lawn Truck is more than just a truck.
It’s a lawn and landscape business system.
It’s a rugged solution for hauling equipment, people and supplies.
It’s a statement that you’re a serious business…not some weekend warrior trying to get some extra drinking money!
It’s for the owner who says, “I’m done with the chaos, and I’m ready for control.”
If that’s you… welcome to the family.
