Dear Lawn or Landscaping Business Owner, Do you know someone who attracts bad luck?

Yep…bad luck follows some landscapers…including ME! It’s a little embarrassing, but…

Let me share two bad luck stories.

Bad Luck Story #1

I passed through an intersection on the way to work that gave me a flashback to one of those BAD-LUCK-DAYS.

I had two employees driving two different trucks and doing two completely different things at different times, however they ended up meeting at the exact same intersection and having a major crash. Thankfully, neither of the employees were injured, but we lost two trucks in a collision from the same company which nearly stopped us from being able to produce work.

Turns out neither of those employees were really trustworthy or conscientious… and both were replaced.

Bad Luck Story #2

We had another accident in which a tandem axle trailer came loose from the back of a truck and went across six lanes of traffic. It then crashed into the exterior perimeter fence of a military installation. The rapid response military police armed with M16s surrounded my crew, and I’m pretty sure, resulted in soiled britches for those guys that morning.

But.. the great news is that again, no one was injured in the accident! BUT… that crash led to my determination to get rid of trailers in my own lawn and landscape company. And that mission led to the start of the Super Lawn Truck company a few years later.

So, the bad thing was the accident and the trailer coming loose from the pickup truck. And yes, we had to spend thousands of dollars to restore the perimeter security fence at the military base.

But in the long run, we have removed thousands of trailers from the roads of the USA while dramatically improving the day-to-day operations of landscaping companies

All of that would not have been possible if we didn’t have the bad thing happen first!

Many of you are too young to remember the famous country and western TV program called “Hee Haw”. But one sketch was always about this family that had bad things happening. They sang the intro song including these words, “If I didn’t have bad luck, I’d have no luck at all. Gloom, despair and agony on me.” (If you want to giggle – watch the silly skit on this video.)

Things will happen in your company and your life that you don’t expect, that throw a wrench in your plans, that take you off guard. Just remember that you can keep going, move through it, and even see good things on the other side.

I hope you don’t suffer through any of your trucks crashing into each other at an intersection and being wiped out or totaled. If that happens to you, our greatest hope is that everyone involved will stay safe. But if you encounter a situation in which you need to replace a truck, give us a call. I’ve got a team right now building the world’s most efficient designed lawn truck and we’d be happy to get one or more built for you!

It’s easy to get distracted when bad things happen at your lawn or landscape company, but at Super Lawn Trucks, we believe the bad luck that is associated with running trucks and trailers can be eliminated completely by switching to non-trailer truck options.

We’d love to help you with this switch when you’re ready.

To Your Success,

Tony Bass
