Why Does the Super Contractor Dump Truck Have Removable Upper Side Panels?
The Super Contractor Dump Truck is designed with removable upper side panels for enhanced flexibility, efficiency, and safety. There are three primary reasons for this feature:
- Faster and Easier Side Loading of Palletized Materials
The removable upper sections allow for rapid side-loading of palletized products such as stone, sod, and bagged mulch. This design:
Enables access with forklifts from either side of the truck body
Allows loading even when a trailer is attached to the truck
Reduces downtime at supply yards and distribution centers
Combined with the fold-down lower panels, this setup supports fast and efficient loading and unloading operations.
- Increased Load Capacity for Lightweight Materials
When the upper side panels are in place, the dump body’s volume increases from approximately 5.5 cubic yards to 11 cubic yards—without increasing the truck’s overall footprint.
This expanded volume is ideal for hauling lightweight, bulky landscaping materials such as:
Shredded mulch
Pine straw
Pruning debris
Installation refuse
This flexibility allows landscape contractors to haul more material per trip, boosting jobsite productivity and reducing fuel and labor costs.
- Load Control for Safety and Compliance
By removing the upper side panels, the load height is reduced, helping to prevent overloading of the truck when transporting heavy materials such as:
Gravel
Sand
Soil
Crush and Run
This safeguard helps avoid overweight violations, improves vehicle handling, and protects your truck’s suspension and braking systems.
Bonus: Equipment-Friendly Loading and Unloading
The combination of removable upper panels and fold-down lower sides makes the Super Contractor Dump Truck compatible with a wide variety of loading and unloading equipment. Whether you’re using skid steers, wheel loaders, forklifts, or manual labor, this design supports streamlined material handling on the jobsite.
Bottom Line:
The removable upper side panels on the Super Contractor Dump Truck offer increased versatility, productivity, and operational safety for landscaping contractors.
